Snack Wanderer
A downloadable game for Windows
A game about meeting a chubby shark girl and collecting food so she gains weight. Made for the GET LARGE Jam from August 2nd to 17th.
There's a decent bit to the game, but we would prefer not to reveal much. That said, it isn't a one-and-done experience - there's a good amount to see, and it may take 2 or more playthroughs to understand how certain mechanics work, or even that they exist.
The game contains weight gain, physical fat intimacy & a slight bit of feeding. Many much blushing, too.
We hope you enjoy it!
-----
Tips:
- Progress is not saved, only settings.
- Each ingredient from a level's biome has 500 calories, unless it's from a different level's biome, in which case it has 1500. Those special groups should be visually distinct.
- The threshold for gaining weight is 3000 calories.
- If Siblif isn't getting very fat, try not to diversify your biome choices too early! Each biome's ingredients may function differently - be considerate.
- F2 restarts the game. Hopefully this is unnecessary, but... yeah
- If you wanna change names/pronouns, just edit the strings.csv and other_strings.csv cells which have them.
-----
The team is:
Kiwi (Doe/Doe)
Project lead, writer, systems programmer, supplemental gameplay programmer. Creator of tent background, Kiwi sprite, and beach music.
Enkah (He/Him)
Lead artist & Siblif's character designer. Also gave lots of very helpful feedback on overall game direction - this would've been way moodier and esoteric without his input.
Jamorphous (She/Her)
Gameplay programmer, level & gameplay designer, sound designer, composer. Also a prolific "dev art"ist, she did a seriously impressive job of doodling things as a prerequisite to design and programming.
Testers:
- Beffany (carrd)
- Person who didn't wanna be credited lol
Disclosure:
A few assets were made long before this game jam: the Kiwi sprite & walking animation, and the beach music were both made by Kiwi in 2023. The cave music was made by Jam in 2024. Everything else was made specifically for this game, during the jam period.

Will you make a 2nd one to this? its a pretty cool game, and a part two would also be cool.
Glad you like it c:
We don't have any plans to continue or expand on Snack Wanderer, it's a rather self-contained and complete idea (even if it's rough due to being a jam game). Moreover, none of us have come forward with any particular game ideas to do together, so we're not working on anything & I don't necessarily expect to anytime soon. Not impossible, but yeag. So unfortunately, there isn't much to expect from us at the moment!
how do I save_
That isn't a feature, sorry. The game saves settings, but nothing else. It's not impossible we'll implement that sometime, but unfortunately I can't promise that. Hopefully that isn't too big a deal c:
Hi love the game! But I do have a question and maybe a bug report? For context I am more of a butt person so I wanted to collect all the bottom cave food but I ran into a snag getting the food from the other two biomes. So how do you get to the bottom cave food that's on topping mountain? I found where they were I just couldn't see a possible way to get to them w/o a jump boost. As for my bug report (though not sure if it is a bug) the beanstalk in the jungle won't grow even if I visit the area and leave, it always says it'll be grown tomorrow. So currently there isn't a way to only get butt gains. I hope this helps!
Jumping while walking up a slope gives a higher jump, so the mountain's cave food utilizes that fact.
I'll check out the jungle thing! Maybe I made a mistake in changing its behaviour for v1.0.7... ^w^;
Hmm. The jungle's stalk grows just fine for me in testing. Both it and the cave progression blocker require you to pick up at least one ingredient before leaving, but given your situation I would imagine you may not be doing that, hence running into issues? o: Do make sure you're on v1.7.0.1 please! (I should probably add a version number on the startup screen-- in order to do this you either have to hover over the executable and check its "file version," or if you're using the Itch client just click the settings gear next to "Launch" and then the "Manage" button on snack-wanderer-windows.zip!)
For what it's worth, each part can only be fattened so many times, and the butt ingredients from either the Jungle or Mountain alone are enough to max out the butt after Bottom Cave becomes unavailable. So I guess just pick a secondary part to fatten and grab some of those. You could also intentionally only pick up one boob/belly ingredient & then leave if you'd rather not see another part grow c:
I had a feeling I would need to pick up an ingredient in order for the stalk to grow, so that was definitely the issue since I was on the right version. And thank you for letting me know that there know I was really close to achieving my goal! Also congrats on fourth place!
Congrats on taking fourth place!
Thank you ^w^;
It admittedly felt a little deflating not making top 3, but seeing now that we were 0.05 points away from third place, there isn't really any sting left hehe,,
Considering how much of a miracle it is that I actually made anything for the jam - a jam I only learned existed the morning it began - I'm pretty grateful for and proud of what we managed to make. Also been nice receiving positive comments from people... c: my other works scarcely get much attention, and no other project taxed me quite like this one. Thank you for inadvertently offering this opportunity!
This was really enjoyable to play and the visuals and music were on point! The story was imo the best part of all, though I'm curious if there's a limit of days in a playthrough cause the ending felt very abrupt
Yeah, It's just 5 days. Ending was definitely rushed to at least some degree due to limited dev time, and that can be exacerbated depending on how a playthrough goes. If you didn't see special art at the end, then you didn't get Siblif fat enough ^w^;
Aww, I did want to clear out each of the areas fully tbh seeing her getting big in all three parts, tho I did get that full ending. I would love to see the days increase for that but I know that would take more art and more writing being made and programmed into the game so I defo understand wanting to leave it too
I feel really guilty for wanting more of the game when you say there's not really any future plans for it, but I suppose in a way that's high praise for what's already there. By the way, do you stream often, cause iirc at the time I posted the first post you were streaming Terraria or smth, but couldn't comment or anything cause I wasn't on my computer that had my twitch account on it
Don't feel guilty ^w^; I think it's normal to want more of something you enjoyed, especially when it's a small scale project like a game jam game.
Also I don't have any sort of schedule for streams, I just do them when I feel like it. Sometimes I do 'bursts' of daily streams, other times I'll stream like twice within a month. Will probably do a decent amount for the time being, that Terraria one was the very start of a modded playthrough with a friend. I'm surprised you even ended up there >w>
such a delightful experience seriously, the writing is on point and i love the inclusion this game gives to people with any pro-nouns. this is just a pet peeve i have as a woman who enjoys this stuff but seeing so many games having male/masc protags gets a little tiring. so i adore the ability to edit pronouns and such, such a small feature that makes me so happy, the art and gameplay are both flowy and gorgeous to look at. i really hope this game does well and future projects do even better <3
I found a bug. after picking fruit, I went to the tent instead of cooking. then again. As a result, I blew the first day and cooked the food twice on the second, but I'm not sure if it all counted.
Oh, interesting! Thanks for reporting this! It's a small scripting oversight, will be fixed in a post-jam patch c:
Your food would have counted if you cooked it before entering a level the second time (so, in the morning). Otherwise, it's a loss. Sorry about that! ^w^; The game's supposed to encourage multiple playthroughs though, so hopefully that's okay c: Especially since this is our first bug report. Thus you shouldn't run into more stuff like this!
Amamzing. Writing is on very high level, desings are adorable. The only isue is it's short as hell. I need more of this... Hopefully will see some other project with those characters or expanded version of this, It would be REALLY sad if authors stop on this.
Unfortunately we don't really have future plans for Snack Wanderer, we all feel it's a pretty complete experience as is. Some platforming additions may come, no promises. I'll definitely do bug/writing fixes if or as people report stuff though, it's not abandonware. c:
As for future projects, I think we're all open to it but we don't know how things will go yet. Bit too fresh off the jam to say!
Thank you for the interest though c: as our first published game project, it's been great hearing this sort of thing from players. We're very glad that it seems to be received quite well!
Amazingly cute! We love you Siblifff
lovely game.
My only complaint is that there isn't more of it.
could you make mac version?
Unfortunately I can't, sorry. I'd love to make a mac, linux & web version, but I can't do any of them. Reasons for each differ:
I hope that there'll be a way to play it outside of Windows in the future, but I can't promise anything. Again, very sorry!
OMG SIBLIF I LOVE YOU
^w^
I would love to try this game, but Windows Defender is detecting a trojan in the application.
Hmm. For the final/current build I switched how gamemaker compiles the game... And now that the deadline has passed, I can't add a second download on the page ^w^; (if you want brief technical details on what the 'compile' thing means, I can give them.)
The only workarounds I can think of are 1. uploading the game again with the other compiler mode but on a different page, or through a file sharing site (feels iffy because while I know I haven't changed anything since this release, I'm not sure anybody else can know for sure), or 2. you just get adequate assurance from others that it's a safe program. Like either that or someone running the jam gets in a call with me and I show them me compiling the game with 0 changes?? I dunno.
In either case, I'm very sorry! This is the first game anyone on the team has released, so we aren't certain how to avoid this kind of issue.
I've gone ahead and reversed Windows Defender's removal of the application, and it doesn't seem to be freaking out anymore. I do trust that (most) people wouldn't just upload a virus to a game jam, especially with comments enabled and the credits in the game page, I was just worried there might have been something uncaught that could cause problems. Going to give it a shot now.
I'm glad I did decide to push through the Windows Defender warnings - this was a delightful game. Very cute. I replayed it a couple of times to see the variations on Siblif's gains. The platforming isn't stand-out, but the area gimmicks are interesting. I especially like the slopes on the mountaintop, acting as both a hazard and a vertical boost when you know what you're doing.
Lovely to hear! ^w^ My guess is that the different compile mode combined with the fact that the game accesses the two .csv's packed with it, leads windows to think it's trying to mess with files generally. Maybe it did that with the other compiler mode too, I honestly don't know. Sucks either way. But yes, I'm glad you pushed through anyway and it turned out okay c:
Great mix of visual novel story with platform gameplay, was able to get the cg at the end and it stays in there and doesnt return to the menu. The game was the kind of cute gay i wish to see more often and had a chill experience to gather and play. Great job.
Yeah I figured it'd be fine if it just stayed on the end screen, but now that you mention it I could just make it fade out and reset the game if you press jump ^w^;
(F2 is always an option, but that one's a little debug-feeling hehe)
Thank you a lot! I'm curious what you mean by it being the "kind of cute gay" you wanna see more of o: I definitely feel similarly, but I wonder how much our underlying thoughts/reasons align. No obligation to reply though! c:
Altough my preference is male, i thought the characters were really cute together and having each other enjoying their own size and praising it to go further was really delightful and i feel its rare to see, hence my comment. I felt the love and meant only praise trough it.
Ah, that makes sense c: Yeah I find that mutual gaining stuff isn't tremendously common. Especially this more 'equal footing' type of depiction, where they both tease each other and there isn't necessarily a pronounced power dynamic thing going on. Thank you again!
(And, I hope it didn't come across as though I took it as negative or anything! It was flattering ^w^)
